ABOUT POPPYDESIGN

Hi! I’m Vibeke. A creative girl who loves design, patterns, fabric and fun DIY projects. Creating gives me so much joy that in 2003 I decided to start my own design studio. And from that time, Poppydesign was a reality.

Many people ask where my creativity comes from and where I find inspiration. The truth is that creativity has always been a huge part of me. I’ve always loved drawing and painting, and ever since I was a little girl I have loved to create things.

On most occasions a little adventurous girl disappeared without a trace from her parents and siblings at the shopping mall or on vacation, just to be found again, singing and drawing at the nearest desk.

In 2007, I wanted to create my own handmade Christmas cards. I was unable to not find the supplies I needed to make the cards I had imagined. I then decided to design my own scrapbook papers, and so my first paper collection was born. The cards and the papers got a lot of attention. My friends wanted to make cards too, and I then created tutorials and gave them the necessary tools to make their own.

That same year I attended a trade show for crafters and was contacted by the craft store chain Panduro Hobby. For many years I had a collaboration with them and I designed my own line of craft supplies and paper collections. I was very proud of this cooperation, and I still am. It was definitely a dream come true!

I remember when I was a little girl, the highlight of the year was when the Panduro catalog arrived in our mailbox. That meant that my mom and I could sit down at the kitchen table, plan all the fun DIY projects we were going to make together! I could never imagine that yearly highlight would become a big part of my livelihood! There are no words to describe the gratitude and the sense of pride I feel in my creations. I have to sometimes pinch myself in the arm.

Over the years I have created and expanded the Poppydesign brand. In 2015, I ended my collaboration with Panduro to stand completely on my own.  This was extremely scary, but very exciting all at once. For the last couple of years my love for surface pattern design has grown significantly.

You may be wondering where my brand name comes from? Growing up I had a cute little doll named Poppy. She was the inspiration behind the name.

Would you like to work with me?

Please get in touch and say hi, I would love to hear from you!
